POSITION TITLE:           Bus Monitors

FLSA:                              Non-exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Ride buses and help driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Pass alcohol and drug screen

Pass Criminal History Background check

Pass Non-DOT annual physical

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively.

Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment.

Ability to work well with children with disabilities.

Strong organization and good interpersonal skills.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to manage student behavior and reinforce positive behavior.

Ability to complete state required reports.

Ability to physically remove students from a disabled bus Knowledge of all routes.

Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

Ability to work with different drivers and students of all ages and grades.
